The Montreal metro is more than just a way to get around, it’s a city-wide gallery, filled with public art integrated into its architecture. This project is all about shining a light on the art hidden in plain sight across the Montreal metro. We pass by it every day especially during rush hour without really noticing it. I wanted to slow things down and create something that encourages people to look a little closer.
My approach was to use dots throughout the design to represent the flow of commuters, each one a person rushing past without stopping. It’s a simple way to show just how many of us move through these spaces every day without taking in what’s around us. The dots also offer a subtle glimpse of the metro art beneath, highlighting the beauty we usually overlook in our hurried routines.
